Questions about the Percentage Calculator

Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 15% of 200 is 200 × 15 ÷ 100, which is 30. Choose the first mode in the calculator and it does this for you.

Subtract the old value from the new one, divide by the old value, and multiply by 100. Going from 50 to 75 is a 50% increase. Going back from 75 to 50 is a 33.33% decrease, because the change is measured against the starting value.

Markup is profit as a share of the cost, and margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Something that costs 60 and sells for 100 has a markup of 66.67% and a margin of 40%.
